Nvidia Launches GR00T AI Platform for Humanoid Robotics

Nvidia introduces Project GR00T, aiming to revolutionize humanoid robotics with a new AI platform designed to accelerate development by offering a foundation model for various applications, demonstrating its commitment to driving innovation in robotics. GR00T stands for Generalist Robot 00 Technology and works by being able to understand both human language and videos. You can feed the computer model video clips depicting a human movement and it will train itself to replicate the action in a virtual simulation, imitating the movement in the real-world.

Nvidia's GTC Keynote Unveils Surprises

At the GTC event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presented the new Blackwell platform, focusing on accelerated computing and AI innovation, revealing a commitment to enhancing graphics processing and introducing tools for AI deployment in various sectors, including self-driving cars and robotics. NVIDIA also announced a new product named NIM, which makes it easier for firms to use older NVIDIA GPUs for โ€˜inferenceโ€™, or the process of running AI software. NVIDIA has introduced a set of over 25 new generative AI-powered microservices to empower healthcare organisations. Companies like AWS, Google, Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, Hitachi, Lenovo and Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced collaborations with NVIDIA to develop Generative AI solutions.
